You've got to be kidding me...

I've had my Dell notebook since my junior year in college. Two years that I used it. Another two years that the DF has used it since college. And 5 days after we switch computers back, the screen dies...

Move-in Day Completion

Here are the pics of the pretty much finished apartment. Today we hung up our existing pictures, clocks, etc. and we haven't bought the city-themed ones yet. I'll post pictures of those as we buy them. Since I've been home I've cooked dinner, did the dishes, organized the kitchen, finished moving extra stuff into storage, gone through our old bills from PA, helped the DF hang our pictures, vacuum, and I'm on my 3rd of 4 loads of laundry. I'm ready to be done for the night.

Move-In Day!

So, the DF finally joined me this weekend, after some delay. What matters is that he's here and that I'm sleeping on a regular bed again. :) Here are some pictures of the destruction here Sunday morning and tomorrow I'll post some showing how the place looked Sunday evening. We both hate to have things left packed, so we worked pretty quickly. Of course I did all the rooms except the office. What a rip. Oh, and he hooked up all the wires in the living room, but really how much work could that be? ;)

WHAT??!!

I saw this on Attack of the Show a few weeks ago and it was on Jay Leno last week. It just cracks me up. You have to watch through the first minute, but it gets a little "Steve's vacation pictures of animals" after that, if you know what I mean...Anyway, enjoy!

Brownies!!

Homemade brownies! These are actually the first plain brownies that I've ever made from scratch. They were pretty decent too. Here's a link: Ultimate Brownies

I made my famous mint brownies too, but I didn't take a picture of those. Just imagine them looking and tasting delicious. :D

Color everywhere!

So I've done a ton of painting the last 2 days, and here's the pictures to prove it. If you want to see more, comment and I'll send you the Picasa link. (I'm just too lazy to send out an e-mail tonight.) I love my little tool that does the trimming for me (no taping!), but I need to touch up the dining room side edges. I did fix the entry wall, though, so it looks really good now. The bedroom does not look like a ping pong table (which is what the DF says); it's a really deep green. It needs another coat, though, and for some reason the pictures kept getting funny light glares on them. The pictures of the bedroom just kind of suck, actually. Anyway, I'm most proud of the office, and the DF approves, which is a good sign because he'll be spending the most time in there. The lighter spots are just touch ups, not permanent ugliness. ;) Anyway, I'm off for the weekend. Have a good one!

What I did tonight

Notice the 3 brands of paint. They were all bought at different stores. While that may sound completely illogical, I do have good reasons for everything. First, I needed more red paint (same as the entry wall) to do the dining room wall. Where did my apartment complex buy this paint? Sherwin Williams, they said. Okay, so I take the empty can to Sherwin Williams. It's not theirs. It's their color, but it was mixed somewhere else. Oh...umm, can you just make more? So they did. The next color I picked out from the DF's parent's house. What brand was it? Benjamin Moore. Which Sherwin Williams doesn't sell. So, I went to Ace Hardware. Next, I just had to go to Lowe's because I had not one, but 2 coupons. One for $10 off a $50 purchase and another for 10% off my entire purchase. So I went there to buy all of my supplies. And since I had a coupon I went ahead and bought the last can of paint there too. See? Makes sense. And since returning home I've primed the dining room wall, though I doubt it needed it since I did the entry wall without primer. Hopefully it looks better anyway. I'll keep you posted on my progress!
